The power of highlighting in netsuite saved searches

Make it Pop with Highlighting!  And we're not talking about Hair!😄

Use Highlighting, an effective and game-changing NetSuite Saved Search feature to group and call attention to line items based on the conditions you set.

In the example below, I have a Shipping Saved Search that I use for a Dashboard to show me all of the Sales order lines organized by expected shipping date. The line items that need to be shipped out today are marked with a green checkmark.

This is great, but what if I want the line items that should have shipped yesterday or two days before today grab my attention?

It's easy with Highlighting! All you need to do is to edit your Saved Search and set the conditions and the highlights that meet those conditions.

Here below, I am setting up the filters to define each condition I want to highlight.

Use images such as checkmarks or exclamation marks, background or text highlights to group and color code those line items that meet each condition.

For my Shipping saved search, I created highlights to grab my attention for the following conditions:

  • Ship Date is on Today = Checkmark image

  • Ship Date is on Yesterday = Red Arrow image and bolded text

  • Ship Date is on or Before Two Days ago = exclamation mark image, bolded text, AND a background color highlight (because I really want these line items to stand out)

Viola! Now I can easily differentiate those line items that are past due to be shipped out from the items that need to ship out today versus those that will be shipped out in the future.  Simple yet powerful, don't you agree? 💪
